Ning Wong
English & Chinese
Ning had a diverse background in various corporate fields before establishing a family life education and consulting center in China in 2006. During her tenure at the center, she mentored family life coaches and trainers and played a crucial role in crisis recovery efforts for teenagers and families affected by the massive Sichuan earthquake in 2008, which claimed thousands of lives and traumatized millions.
As a family life educator for nearly two decades, Ning operates a social enterprise that provides support to Chinese-speaking families globally, addressing parenting and marital issues, social integration, and emotional well-being. She offers counselling and coaching services to clients aged 20 and above, covering areas such as parenting and family relationships, emotional regulation, transition and adjustments, anger and anxiety, trauma-related issues, and the integration of spirituality with psychological well-being. Ning is particularly passionate about attachment-focused work and aims to guide individuals and families toward lasting healing and transformation.
Outside of her professional life, Ning enjoys quiet moments with a good book or a game of mahjong. She is happily married and finds joy in conversing with her two adult sons and their friends.

Philosophy and Approach
Ning's philosophy is rooted in the belief that the foundation of society lies in the well-being and development of each individual, followed by the cultivation of harmonious family relationships. She sees parents as the architects of their children's lives and employs a parenting curriculum drawing from various psychological theories, adapted for contemporary Chinese families.
Emphasizing the therapeutic relationship as a healing space, Ning integrates cultural influences into her counselling approach. She utilizes an integrative methodology, including client-centered therapy, AF-EMDR, solution-focused therapy, schema therapy, and cognitive-behavioral methods. In addressing marital issues, she incorporates concepts and tools from Gottman Couple's Therapy.

FAQ
What is counselling?
Counselling is a short-term professional relationship designed to provide support and help you cope with life challenges. Whatever difficulties you face, you can work on self-limiting thoughts and behaviors, address hurtful feelings, and improve your relationships through individual counselling.
What is the difference between counselling and therapy?
In Singapore, counselling and therapy are often used interchangeably.
Essentially, counselling involves a short-term (6-12 sessions) focus on addressing a specific issue,
while therapy is more long-term (13-30 sessions) and focuses on addressing the root causes of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Is Counselling/Therapy Right for Me?
Everyone experiences ups and downs in life, but sometimes, we may feel overwhelmed and unable to cope.
You are not alone in your struggles. Our trusted counselors are ready to help you navigate complex emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges.
What Can I Expect from the First Appointment?
The first appointment is an initial assessment meeting where the counselor will understand what prompted you to seek counseling, the symptoms, emotions, or thoughts you are experiencing, and your coping mechanisms.
It typically includes questions about your personal history, family background, past relationships, and experiences. The counselor will also discuss the goals and outcomes you hope to achieve through counseling.
This helps the counselor assess the best ways and techniques to work with you on your journey of growth.
